Immersed in the hills of the Farnesiana, in the ancient Etruria, the Farm Holiday Centre is a structure deriving from an old farm house of “ Ente Maremma ”
The farm house has, on the ground floor, a large living room with a massive fireplace, a well equipped kitchen, where is prepared egg pasta, like lasagne, ravioli Cottage cheese, pappardelle with wild boar, potatoes gnocchi , spaghetti with wild asparagus, soups, grilled meat or refined dishes such as rabbit chasseur, farm chicken with tomatoes, wild boar chasseur, roast guinea fowl died or jugged , directly cooked by Mrs. Elisabetta Ricci. We prepare vegetables, which are grown in the vegetable garden, such as the tasty salad, broccoli dragged in red wine, grilled vegetables, artichokes Roman style but also the wild ones such as chicory, wild chard, asparagus.
The outside porch, the evergreen garden and the beauty of the cultivated hills are conducive to relax. The 5 rooms are located on the upper floor, all with private bathroom and carefully furnished. Endowed with air conditioning, central heating, ceiling fan, freeWI FI Internet connection, colour TV. The very large attic (48 square metres), has a fireplace and a large balcony from where you can enjoy a wonderful view over the fields where wheat and sunflowers are cultivated.
In the hills thereis an olive grove of “ canino” , “leccino “and “oil mill” varieties and some varieties of olive trees for the production of table olives. A space is reserved to artichokes and fruit trees while a small plot of land is cultivated with mixed vegetables to provide the restaurant with fresh vegetables.

What does “Asco” mean?

The farm is situated in an area called “Piano d’Asco” and the meaning of this place-name is “bog surrounded by a woody land” ( Asco is a word that derives from Greek and means goatskin).
The evidence of all this is a little lake, where many birds like to stop, and so here it’s possible to admire both resident birds, like some herons, and migratory ones, such as mallards and swallows.
